| Dennis Chavarria Dennis played soccer at Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas. He was a four year starter and earned the distinction of most valuable player, First Team All State. He also served as the team captain. He was placed in the NEISD Hall of Honor in 2005. Chavarria played college ball at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. He was a four year starter, two-time MVP, All District Region, and five time player of the week. He also was captain of the team for three years. Dennis played semi-pro indoor soccer with the San Antonio Generals. He also played outdoor soccer with the Austin Sockadillos (Lonestars) and San Antonio Heat. He went on to play for the USISL San Antonio Pumas. Dennis has been coaching club soccer for fourteen years. He began with the XLR8 Soccer Club, where he was Director of Coaching. He also coached for the Hammers in 1992. Chavarria went on to coach at the University of Incarnate Word from 1998-2001. During this time he also coached an ODP U23 women’s team. Some of his coaching accomplishments include wins at the Pike’s Peak Invitational, Sony Texas Invitational, four state championships and one regional appearance. In addition, he also served as the goalkeeper’s coach for Incarnate Word and NEYSO Division One. Dennis has a USSF National D license, a NSCAA Regional Diploma, an Under 8 and 10 youth module, and will be acquiring his National Youth License this January. He is married to Mimi and they have three children with another due this fall. |
