Paul McGinlay

Paul McGinlay has been involved in the game of soccer for over 35 years. He is better known as the Trinity University Tigers head men’s soccer coach, having amassed an overall record of 202-49-17 (.785). In 2003-2004, McGinlay led Trinity to a 24-0-0 record and the NCAA Division III National Championship. It was the first NCAA title – in any division – for a soccer team in the state of Texas.

He is a six-time SCAC Coach-of-the-Year honoree and led his team to an undefeated conference schedule seven times in his career. During the summer of 2000, McGinlay was appointed head boys coach of the United States Soccer Federation’s (USSF) Region III (OPD) Olympic Development Program. McGinlay served in that capacity through last season and was responsible for selecting the top ages 14-through-18 players in an 11-state region. McGinlay is also an assistant national staff coach for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

McGinlay holds a USFF “A” license and an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA. He serves on the organization’s National Board of Directors and is a regional chair. A native of Corby, England, McGinlay earned the bachelor’s degree from the University of London.
