Lee Williams Coaching Background: Lee Williams Coached for Swansea City FC (English Premier League) from the age of 18 in the Development Program and progressed into the Centre of Excellence whilst gaining coaching licenses, before moving to England to pursue a college education. He coached with many different UK based professional clubs; Leicester City, Birmingham City, Cheltenham Town and Worcester City. After Graduating from College he decided to move to the US Coaching for British Soccer as a Club Trainer. He did this for over 5 years, which was spent in Minnesota and Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and finally San Antonio. Lee started coaching at The Fire before moving SA United for a season and then on to New Braunfels Rapids (DFW Tornados). Lee is currently the Graduate Assistant at Our Lake of Our Lake University for both Men’s and Women’s programs and is very excited for the new chapter in his coaching career at such a well recognized soccer club as CESA. Playing Background: Lee started his soccer career at Swansea City FC U18 Academy. Then moved to Semi-Professional outfit Llanelli AFC (Welsh Premier League). During that time he was selected to play for Welsh Colleges and played against Australia and South Africa. Lee moved to England and played semi-professional at Worcester City (Conference North), Purfleet FC (Conference South). During his College days he played and started all the 3 years at the University of Worcester for the 1st XI and captained the team for 2 years to 2 regional championships and national ranked in the top 10 in BUSA. He was selected to play for Midlands Universities for 2 years running and captained in the final year. He was also selected for the England Universities squad to play in a tournament against all the home nations (Wales, Scotland & Ireland) which the team won. After playing for numerous semi- professional clubs in both Wales and England Lee moved to the US and played for Minnesota Select team and was on the training squad for the Minnesota Thunder (USL 1st Division) after moving to New England he played for Rhode Island Stingrays (PDL) Education Background: Lee recently start his MS in Non-Profit Management at OLLU, he has a BS (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Sciences with a focus on Coaching. He holds USSF “B”, UEFA “B” coaching licenses. |
