SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The Classics Elite Soccer Academy in San Antonio, TX, and Major League Soccer (MLS) team Austin FC have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to benefit both organizations. This non-exclusive relationship will allow Austin FC Academy to conduct a Center of Excellence training program for players in the greater San Antonio area at the Classics Elite facilities. Additionally, the MOU allows Austin FC Academy’s San Antonio based players to have the opportunity to occasionally train in San Antonio. Austin FC Academy will also become the professional pathway in the United States for Classics Elite players.
"This is an exciting opportunity, not only for our Classics Elite players but for all of the players in the San Antonio area,” commented Classics Elite Director of Coaching, Aaron Metzger. “It is exciting to finally have an MLS team in Central Texas, and we are thrilled to be working with Austin FC Academy as our two organizations are very much aligned in terms of player and personal development. This relationship creates potential opportunities with the Austin FC Academy for Classic Elite’s players, and, perhaps one day, the Austin FC first team. We believe in the Austin FC leadership, and we look forward to a dynamic and positive working relationship that will positively impact the youth soccer landscape in San Antonio and beyond.
